Installing Appcues - General Overview

A general overview of the components involved in installing Appcues that’s friendly for all users! Please use this guide to outline your installation milestones with your non-technical and technical teammates. We also recommend completing an Installation Plan to help organize your installation alongside your technical team.

Installing Appcues should take a developer about an hour or more of work to complete, depending on the complexity of your installation and any integrations. After completing your installation, you’ll have a successful Appcues implementation and can start publishing and reviewing activity!
 

What Makes an Appcues Installation?

Connect Appcues to your Product

Appcues is added to your product to connect to your Appcues account and show the content you’ve built.
 

Identify Users and Groups

Tell Appcues when a user is present, and who they are. With this information, you are able to target experiences and create segments of users. For greater data management, you can separate your individual user information from their account information by splitting up the data you send into Appcues. Check out our integrations for more ways to bring in user data!
 

Tracking Events

Tracking events with Appcues allows you to measure your users’ engagement with your product. These events can also be used for segmentation and targeting.
Note: Your implementation is incomplete if you do not track any events
